The start of a new year always brings about a period of reflection and reevaluation. For me, Living Remixed was definitely a highlight of 2014. What began as an experiment with a notebook and a crappy camera in my kitchen, has turned into a dream realized with endless potential.

When I decided to start Living Remixed, I had an idea of what I thought it meant. An eternal city girl, I thought Living Remixed meant discovering ways to maintain my city edge even though I’m hundreds of miles from Barneys and I can’t call an Uber to my doorstep. After making a few meals, talking to a few friends and just taking time to reflect, I realized that is only a small portion of what Living Remixed means. Location is a mere facet of a much bigger picture.

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is turn on some Frank Sinatra or Astrud Gilberto, pop a quiche in the oven and read my New York Times. But I’ve also been known to travel far and wide for a Jay- Z show. Jay in Brooklyn? Barclay Center? Yes please! Food and drink are no different. For every prime rib with horseradish sauce, there’s some fried chicken and collard greens. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is my weakness, but Babe makes a mean pitcher of Kool-aid, too! And as for fashion, let just say there is plenty of room in my closet for Gucci, J. Crew and Target. I’m don’t believe I have to choose so don’t try to make me.FrenchFriesFrenchWine

Living Remixed means not being forced to identify with any one thing. Over time, we all evolve and grow to identify with many things, some of which contradict one another. This is especially true when we consider our lifestyle interests. For me it’s things like City/Suburb…Shopping on 5th Avenue/King of Prussia Mall…Uber/Valet…Kendrick Lamar/Michael Buble…Goop/Pioneer Woman (Do you see what I did there?). The point is our taste in food, drink, music, home décor, fashion and travel don’t have to be placed in a box.

I’m 30-something wife, mother and entrepreneur. I love to cook, write, take pictures and discover new music. I have ambitions, hopes, dreams, struggles and triumphs. I enjoy writing about my experiences, many of which involve food (and wine, of course). And I am ever-evolving. My mission is to share stories, recipes and ideas that inspire you to explore ways to remix your own living. In 2015, resolve to AMPLIFY YOUR LIFE.

Happy New Year!
